The Tale of Three Teams

Based on true stories, these are tales of teams who were handed mighty challenges that exceeded their size and capacity. Though resources were lean, the leaders held great visions that would drive their business success, if only they had a trusted ally. Here are their stories.

The Small Kitchen and the Catering Team

In a small kitchen serving a fast-growing business, Executive Chef Willamina held high standards for taste, dining experience, and the health of every meal. Her small but skilled kitchen brigade prepared food that kept employees energized, healthy, and ready to work. Their efforts directly fueled the company’s growth.

But as the business expanded, the kitchen strained to keep up. More employees meant more meals, more diverse dietary needs, and higher expectations. Pressure was mounting. Service slowed, quality slipped, and Willamina’s vision of health and excellence felt at risk.

She searched for a catering team, but not just any team. She needed partners who shared her pride in craft, who cared about outcomes, and who could scale without diluting her vision. Many fell short. Some offered mass production without care. Others refused to adapt their menus or processes.

Finally, Willamina found a team who listened first, understood her goals, and built flexible support around her kitchen’s unique needs. Together, they sustained quality and service while enabling the business to grow at pace for many years.

The Architect and the Giant Bridge

Gerald, a seasoned architect, was tasked with building a massive bridge to connect distant islands. His vision was clear, but his engineering teams were too small and too divided to realize it.

Each team was talented, but also specialized and siloed. Electrical engineers wanted to wire the bridge their way, civil engineers focused only on foundations, and mechanical engineers had their own priorities. Not only were there too few hands, but each group pulled in different directions, threatening progress and unity.

Gerald realized he needed more than extra engineers. He needed a way to bring them together under one plan. He turned to a trusted ally with expertise in onboarding and collaboration. They worked with him to grow the team, align skills, and build cohesion across specialties.

The result was more than a bridge: it was a larger, unified team capable of tackling complex challenges and delivering lasting impact.

The Healer and the Villages

Across many villages, each healer tended to the sick and kept their people healthy. In the village of Harding, healer Adira had developed powerful new remedies that made her villagers stronger and more resilient than anywhere else. She knew she had to share them, not only to spread health but to generate income to continue her research.

She gathered apprentices to carry her medicines to other villages. But they quickly faced obstacles: skeptical leaders, objections rooted in tradition, and delicate conversations that required nuance and persuasion. Simply knowing the remedies was not enough.

Adira sought merchants to train her apprentices, but their lessons on selling textiles didn’t fit the task of selling health. So she turned to scholars, experts in teaching, coaching, and change. They immersed themselves in her vision, studied the apprentices’ challenges, and even listened to the voices of hesitant village leaders. Together, they crafted training with rich practice, individualized coaching, and strategies for handling objections with empathy and confidence.

Soon, Adira’s apprentices were equipped to spread both health and prosperity. Villages thrived, and her research flourished, bringing ever-stronger remedies to the people.
